2 VDGs killed by terrorists in J&K’s Kishtwar

Dr Farooq, CM Omar condemn attack, say such incidents remain impediments in achieving peace

 

Kishtwar, Nov 07 (KNO): Two Village Defense Guards (VDG) were reported killed by the terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s district.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that two VDGs identified as Nazir Ahmad, son of Muhammad Khalil and Kuldeep Kumar, son of Amar Chand–both residents of Ohli, Kuntwara have been killed by the terrorists in Kishtwar.

The official said that the duo would always go to Munzla Dhar (Adhwari) for grazing their cattle but today they didn’t return.

As per sources bodies haven’t been recovered yet, a massive search operation launched by forces.

The fresh attack comes at a time when J&K is witnessing spurt in attacks on non-J&K work force and encounters.

Meanwhile, National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and vice president and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah condemned the gruesome killing of two VDGs in Kishtwar.

The leaders said that such acts of barbaric violence remain a significant impediment in achieving the long-lasting peace in J&K. “In this hour of grief, their thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased,” the NC wrote on X—(KNO)
