Kulgam, Oct, 24: In response to the tragic killing of a minor in a leopard attack, the Wildlife Department has installed cages in multiple locations within the Brinal Lammer area of the Devsar Belt in Kulgam district. This initiative, launched on Thursday, aims to capture the leopard responsible for the incident and prevent further attacks.

Imtiyaz Naik, in charge of the Wildlife Department in Kulgam, stated that search operations are underway in the area where the attack occurred. “The cages have been strategically placed to capture the leopard alive, ensuring the safety of the local community,” he explained.

The Wildlife Department has also issued a public safety advisory, urging residents to keep their children indoors before 5 PM and refrain from letting them go outside until after 10 AM. This precautionary measure aims to minimize the risk of similar incidents in the future as the community copes with the aftermath of this tragedy.
