Sopore:- The much-anticipated “Shaheed Nisar Ahmad Lone Memorial Football Tournament,” organized by the 179th battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), concluded today amidst great enthusiasm at the Subhana Sports Stadium in Sopore. The tournament, held to honor the memory of the martyred CRPF personnel, showcased the spirit of sportsmanship and unity in the region.
The final match of the tournament saw FC Ningli emerge victorious with a resounding 5-0 win against MET School, clinching the championship title. Sixteen teams from across Sopore participated in the tournament, making it a vibrant and highly competitive event.
The closing ceremony was graced by several dignitaries, including the Commanding Officer of the 179th BN CRPF, Mr. Vickey Choudhary, along with ASP Sopore Murtaza Hussain and Dr. Ishfaq, Principal of Government Boys High School Sopore. Officials from the 179th battalion were also present, along with local residents who came out in large numbers to support the teams.
