International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction Observed at Dakbanglow Sopore

Sopore, October 13: The International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction was observed today at Dakbanglow Sopore, drawing a large gathering of participants, including the President of Traders Sopore and other prominent figures. The event also featured an essay competition, in which 30 students showcased their understanding of disaster risk reduction. At the end of the competition, certificates were distributed to the participants.

The event was attended by key officials, including the Executive Engineer of Irrigation Department Sopore, Tehsildars from Sopore, Zainagheer, and Dangerpora, along with ZEPO Sopore and other local authorities. During the interactive session, students posed insightful questions about risk reduction, which were addressed by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sopore. He outlined the various measures being implemented by the administration to ensure the safety of people and their property in disaster-prone areas.

In his concluding remarks, Mr. Raina expressed his gratitude to all participants and media personnel for their contribution in making the program a vibrant and informative event.
