Sopore, 12 Sept. 2024:Sopore Police have arrested one drug peddler and recovered Contraband Substances from his possession.
A police party of Police Station Bomai headed by SHO PS Bomai Insp. Iftikhar Hussain under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Shri. Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS, at a checkpoint at Bun Astan Tujjer Shareef apprehended one suspected person.
During the search 210 grams of contraband charas like substance was recovered from his possession.
On preliminary verification he disclosed his identity as Imtiyaz Ahmad Najar S/O Ghulam Mohammad Najar R/O Tujjer Shareef Sopore.
In this connection, case under relevant sections of NDPS has been registered at Police Station Bomai & investigation has been initiated.
Sopore police urges the common masses to give information regarding narcotics or any other crimes to the nearest police establishment or dial 112.
General Public is requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per the law.
