A police party of Police Station Sopore headed by SHO PS Sopore Insp. Ayaz Gellani under the supervision of ASP Sopore Shri. Mir Murtaza-JKPS, at a checkpoint at Degree College crossing intercepted one Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK04B 9591.
During the search of the said vehicle 32 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered.
On preliminary verification driver disclosed his identity as Farooq Ahmad Ganie @Farooq Jandgur S/O Ghulam Nabi Ganie R/O Sangrampora Sopore A/P Bunpora Langate Handwara.
In this connection, case under relevant sections of Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Sopore & investigation has been initiated.
