Sopore Police solved two burglary cases, Stolen property worth Lacs recovered

Sopore Police have solved two burglary cases by arresting three accused persons involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen property worth lacs from their possession.

 

On 27 July Police Station Sopore received a written complaint from one person namely Gulshana Begum W/O Aashiq Hussain R/O Kralteng Sopore stating therein that she went her sons home residing nearby her house, upon returning home, she discovered theft of jewelry worth lacs in her house.

 

Upon this, a case FIR No. 176/2024 under section 331(3) and 305 of IPC Act was registered at Police Station Sopore and investigation was initiated.

 

On the directions of SP Sopore Smt. Divya D-IPS, an investigation team comprising of SHO PS Sopore Insp. Ayaz Gellani & other officials of PS Sopore under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Shri. Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS was constituted.

 

During the course of investigation, investigating team with strenuous efforts apprehended one Saqib lateef Sofi S/O Abdul Lateef Sofi R/O Sempora Sopore, wherein he confessed to committing the theft.

 

On further investigation involvement of Aabid Ahmad Lone S/O Ghulam Mohiudin Lone R/O Zaloora Sopore and one jewelry shop owner (S S Jewelers Iqbal Market, Sopore) namely Shakoor Ahmad Zargar S/O Mohammad Shafi Zargar R/O Nigeenbagh Sopore came to fore and they were eventually apprehended.

 

The following jewelry articles were recovered from the possession of three accused persons.

1. KITTY SET 01 No.

2. GOLDEN RINGS 09 No.’s

3. JUMKA BIG 01 No.

4. JUMKA SMALL 01 No.

5. GOLDEN COINS (PONDS) 05 No.’s

6. EAR RINGS 02 No.’s

 

Total value of recovered stolen articles is ₹6,10,000.

 

Furthermore, cash amount of ₹1,30,000 was recovered from the possession of accused Saqib Ahmad Sofi in case FIR No. 200/2024 under relevant sections of law as the theft was taken place at Iqbal Nagar Sopore on 14 August 2024. Total recovery in both the cases including cash and jewelry costs ₹745000.

 

Community members have lauded the efforts of Sopore police for solving the burglary cases.
